Art Show

This last week I was able to show a couple recent pieces at Fowler’s in Solana Beach, a cool boutique shop on Highway 101.  Given that its my position to help guide our clients to a tangible product or experience, it’s nice to have an outlet in which to explore something a bit more ethereal and impulsive.  I have been trying to capture the mood and atmosphere of memory, and what we may retain from some given scene in our head. In my case, the inspiration was a natural one, so trying to dial in certain textures and color shifts has been my goal, and of course distilling it all into simplified projections.  Anyhow, it was fun and the other artists (Dustin Ortiz, Christine Brailsford, and Skye Walker) showed some impressive work!

Cheers!

Matt

It’s great to be so immersed with our local San Diego creative talent at all levels.

I now have the pleasure of lecturing and mentoring at the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD. The first objective is to raise awareness of the experience design process, and understand how to place a product within an overall service offering.

Nate Delson, instructor for the Product Design and Entrepreneurship course, invited DDSTUDIO to be an integral part of the program moving forward.
