The Why
Everi needed design magic and engineering integration to first update their legacy Player Classic product, then extend the brand into the Premium sector. Players associate closely with Player Classic look and feel; so any changes ( technology, usability, cost reduction) needed to stay true to the brand visual aesthetic and player expectations.
Everi gaming engaged DDSTUDIO to modernize their legacy Player Classic stepper. The Player Classic Signature stepper, launched at G2E2022, successfully updated the cabinet, while retaining the classic look and feel that honors the rich history of the loyal stepper player. It secured Everi’s domination in the mechanical reel product segment. The following year, Everi wanted to elevate the Player Classic Signature into a Premium product to capture a strong foothold in the high denomination space. Mission Accomplished!
The Player Classic Reserve, a stunning new, premium offering, was enthusiastically launched this week at G2E2023.
The Who
Everi is a leading Casino Gaming manufacturer with a great history in mechanical stepper machines. In fact it’s top in this category. They wanted to “Maintain the history and aesthetic of the Player Classic brand while empowering our game development team with new technology.”
The How
The existing Classic Stepper was becoming costly and tough to upgrade or change out games. We wanted to maintain perceived value while reducing manufacturing cost and increasing speed to market. Modularization was implemented through changing out printed glass for film-inserts and LCD displays. One cabinet can now serve different game titles eliminating the need for film inserts and reprogramming. As games become hot, casino operators can respond quickly with fast updates.
The Player Classic Reserve builds on that flexibility, then takes all sensory touchpoints to the next level with stunning floor presence, dazzling lighting, game enhancing technology and custom merchandizing options for casino operators.
The Feeling
The Player Classic Signature has the glass and chrome people expect. “I recognize this stepper machine, and I think it can deliver the big wins I play for. I almost feel I have played on it before.” It’s a real reel machine – mechanical and solid and not at all confusing.” The new Player Classic Reserve builds the signature cabinet success, then takes it to the next level with a perfect balance of classic signature elements and luxury premium features appropriate for the VIP High denom player.
