Connect in San Diego with CONNECT

This Summer, DDSTUDIO was proud to participate in the Connect in SD with CONNECT event. Hosted by Mintz Levin and co-sponsored by DD, the meetup gave companies and entrepreneurs the chance to share wisdom and knowledge. Thinkers, shakers and movers from around the county participated, and many have called 2013 the annual event’s best year so far!

The day began with a panel discussion on the importance of a consumer-centric approach to business. Charles Curbbun hosted a panel discussion, featuring a keynote speech about experience design by our own Ant Creed. After questions and comments, everyone filtered outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, and to interact with the exhibitors. Attendees enjoyed the space, taking the opportunity to network and swap stories of success. Food trucks were available, along with numerous food vendors showcasing their signature dishes and desserts.

We decided that we didn’t want to simply participate in a panel discussion, but provide attendees with something they could experience at a much more intimate level. From this user-focused perspective, DD Studio, Nobel Technologies and MJD Interactive teamed up to create a walk-through interactive tent focused on experience design. From an augmented reality station to an on-site artist sketching attendees, the exhibit had it all. Did we mention our signature cocktail, the Pom Blueberry Bomb?

The event was, more than anything, a time for sharing and learning together with our fellow San Diegans. We brought the community closer together under our tent’s roof, and ultimately provided an outlet for creativity and personal expression. Although the professional connections were valuable, we think that the real value in Connect with CONNECT can be found the the smiles of the attendees. We’ll be there again next year, will you?
