Telesis Bio Inc.
BioXp® 9600 System
After commercializing the revolutionary BioXP 3200 and 9600 Synthetic DNA generation devices, Telesis Bio saw a market need for developing an automated high throughput version of their technology. They wanted to offer labs a product that works overnight and delivers in the morning. We wanted the design to reflect the high-quality visual aesthetic of the current devices, maximize value with common parts and optimize the product layout for seamless workflow and usability. Loading and unloading would require an integrated physical & digital workflow.
Telesis Bio Inc is a synthetic biology company focused on enabling researchers to rapidly, accurately, and reproducibly build or write high-quality synthetic DNA and mRNA that is ready to use in many downstream synthetic biology-enabled markets.
DDSTUDIO + Telesis Bio’s long-term trusted relationship empowers a synergistic relationship between design and detailed engineering resulting in tangible concepts that are truely innovative.
The platform included a multi-tray loading system in the form of an external stacker. We moved this feature beneath the robotics to reduce visual mass. This also enabled us to integrate existing subassemblies from previous products, to maximize cost reduction. We worked extensively with the CM to implement our Design Vision.
The completed next-generation Telesis BioXP 9600 is approachable, evoking a Coming-of-Age feeling. The user experience is seamless with status information and prompts appearing only when necessary. The UI guides and maps the loading and unloading process. The softly articulating front door gives unrestricted access to all internal assemblies.
